Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of artemaze.com — the Studio, the developer API, and the credit system that funds them. They are written to be read. Where a clause is doing real work, it says what it does.
Last updated 1 September 2026
1. The agreement
By creating an account, purchasing credits, or calling the API you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that organisation.
These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy and refund policy. If they conflict, these terms govern the service itself and the Privacy Policy governs data handling.
2. Accounts
An account is for one person or one organisation. You are responsible for what happens under yours: keep your API keys secret, and tell us promptly if one is exposed. We store API keys only as a SHA-256 hash — we cannot recover a key for you, so a lost key must be revoked and replaced.
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and old enough to consent to the processing of your data under the laws that apply to you. There is no minimum age set beyond that; accounts created by minors are not permitted.
Accounts are for humans. Automated account creation, credential sharing across unrelated parties, and reselling access all terminate the account on notice.
3. Licence to generated assets
The output is yours. Every model you generate — in the Studio or through the API — is yours to use, including commercially. Sell it, ship it in a game, render it in a film, print it, modify it, or use it as the basis for work that is far removed from the original. No royalty, no attribution requirement, no per-seat accounting, and no obligation to tell us what you made.
We claim no intellectual property in your output, and you grant us none. Because models are derived from a seed rather than from any input you supply, two people using the same seed can produce the same geometry. That is a property of determinism, not a claim by either of you: we assign no rights in the underlying algorithm, and we assert no rights over anyone's instance of it.
A purchased bundle covers one seat. A team of four needs four bundles; credits pool across them, so the volume rate applies to all of them. The licence covers the output, not the engine — embedding the generator itself in a product you resell requires a separate written agreement.
You are solely responsible for what you do with the output, including any claim that it infringes a third party's rights or breaches a platform's content rules. We do not review generated models.
4. The service
Artemaze is a web application and an HTTP API that generate 3D geometry procedurally. Client-side generation runs in your browser and works offline once loaded; API generation runs on our servers.
The generators — superformula, gyroid, and harmonic torus — are part of what you are paying for. We may add, change, or retire a generator over time. Seeds are guaranteed stable for existing generators: a given seed at a given quality and generator produces the same geometry across a major version. Quality values map to mesh density, and a change to that mapping is a material change requiring notice in the changelog.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We will give at least 30 days' notice of a material discontinuation that affects paid customers, and unused purchased credits will be refunded pro rata.
5. Credits and payment
A credit is one successful generation, at any quality level and in any format. Credits are bought in bundles: 200 for $15, 600 for $35, 1,500 for $75.
Every account receives 20 browser-local generations without signing up, and 50 trial credits on sign-up that expire 15 days after the account is created. No payment details are required for either.
Two pools, one order of spending. Trial credits and purchased credits are tracked separately. Trial credits are always spent first; purchased credits are only ever touched once the trial pool is empty, so a trial expiry can never remove credits you paid for. Purchased credits do not expire, and they are not consumed by a lapsed payment method.
A generation is charged when it succeeds. A request that fails — a bad parameter, an exhausted balance, a seed that cannot be meshed — costs nothing. If a charge appears for a request that did not return a model, contact us and it will be reversed.
Payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and calculates and remits any sales tax. Prices are in USD and exclude taxes that Paddle adds at checkout. We never see or store your card details.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the API to generate content that is unlawful, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
- attempt to circumvent credit accounting, rate limits, or any other technical restriction;
- interfere with the service's operation, including by probing for vulnerabilities without authorisation, scraping at a rate that degrades it for others, or overloading it with automated requests;
- misrepresent generated output as the work of a human where that misleads — in journalism, evidence, or any context where a viewer would reasonably assume a person made it.
We may suspend an account that breaches these terms. Where a breach is severe and unambiguous — fraud, or generating unlawful content at volume — we may suspend without prior notice, and will explain the decision on request.
7. Intellectual property
The Artemaze name, the interface, the engine source, and the visual design of the site are our property. Nothing here grants you a licence to them beyond the right to use the service as offered.
Feedback you send us is not confidential and may be used without obligation, though we will not attribute it to you without permission.
8. Availability
We aim for the API to be available continuously, and we do not offer service credits for downtime. Client-side generation in the Studio continues to work when our servers are down, because it runs entirely in your browser — that is a deliberate property of the architecture, not a workaround.
Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can. Emergency maintenance for security or legal reasons may be unannounced.
9. Termination
You may stop using Artemaze at any time and delete your account from account settings. Deletion removes your profile, credit balances, and API keys.
We may terminate or suspend an account for breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where required by law. On termination for our convenience, unused purchased credits are refunded pro rata within 30 days. On termination for your breach, they are not.
Sections 3, 6, 7, 10, and 11 survive termination. The licence to assets you generated before termination is perpetual and royalty-free — closing your account does not take your models away.
10. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated output will be suitable for any specific use.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100. This limit applies even if we were told a claim was likely.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protections of your local mandatory consumer law, and this clause does not remove them.
If any provision is found unenforceable, it is severed and the rest stands — the remainder of the agreement continues in force.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email and in the changelog at least 14 days before they take effect, and the "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, close your account and any unused purchased credits are refunded pro rata.
